Research interests

My research focuses on the investigation of the syntax-semantics interface, especially on syntactic and semantic properties of complex expressions as well as on deep lexical decomposition. In particular, my work is concerned with the following issues:

Syntax and semantics of complex predicates, especially light verb constructions in German and Persian & the modification of light verb constructions                                                                                                                                                                                    Degree expressions and their interaction with lexical aspect                                                                                                                  Aspectual composition (contrastive analysis Germanic vs Slavic languages)                                                                                        Case marking asymmetries (Germanic and Iranian languages)                                                                                              Morphosyntax and argument realization within Bantu languages

Languages I worked on: German, Polish, Upper Silesian Polish, Bulgarian, Russian, French, Persian, Gikuyu, isiZulu.

I am one of the series editors of the new book series 'Studies in Role and Reference Grammar' published at Mouton.
