 News

August 2021

A new paper on German light verb constructions has been published. Here's the link. The paper presents the results of a corpus study on light verb constructions of the form 'stehen 'stand' + unter 'under' NP'.

I added links to some videos of talk on previous conferences, e.g. Predicative multiword-expressions in Persian at 'PACLIC Workshop on Multiword Expressions in Asian languages', Light verb constructions and their families - A corpus study on German stehen unter-LVCs at '17th Workshop on Multiword Expressions' and The desemantisation of German kommen and the emergence of light verb constructions joint talk with Stefan Hartmann at '12th International Corpus Linguistics Conference'.

Research interests

My research focuses on the investigation of the syntax-semantics interface, especially on syntactic and semantic properties of complex expressions as well as on deep lexical decomposition. In particular, my work is concerned with the following issues:

Syntax and semantics of complex predicates, especially light verb constructions in German and Persian & the modification of light verb constructions                                                                                                                                                                                    Degree expressions and their interaction with lexical aspect                                                                                                                  Aspectual composition (contrastive analysis Germanic vs Slavic languages)                                                                                        Case marking asymmetries (Germanic and Iranian languages)

Languages I worked on: German, Polish, Upper Silesian Polish, Bulgarian, Russian, French, Persian
